Tips for shopping for appliances on Black Friday

Black Friday is one of the biggest retail events of the year where you can see really good deals on everything, including appliances. This might be the right sales event to get your new washing machine, dryer or dishwasher but it can all be a bit overwhelming. So, Maydone has created a guide to help you shop for appliances this next Black Friday.

Because of all the good deals going around the main ingredient for success will be actually having a plan, it might seem easy to just shop but Black Friday is hectic, and getting the appliance you want can get complicated if you don’t think ahead.

Remember that part of making a good appliance purchase experience is getting the right people to install your new appliance, so call Maydone after you are done shopping!

Figure out what you need vs what you want

Deals are going to be everywhere and they are going to cover almost all types of appliances. To get your home set up right you need to narrow down what appliances you need vs the ones you just want.

Tips to figure out what appliance to buy during Black Friday

  1. Appliances over 10 years old
  2. Appliances you’ve had to constantly repair over the last year
  3. Appliances not fully functional like dishwashers that don’t run all cycles, etc
  4. Appliances you don’t have
  5. The big ones: washing machines and dryers, refrigerators and stoves.

So, now you have a few filters for figuring out what to buy, but then there’s also what you want. If you are going to treat yourself or just want to expand your appliances then go ahead!

Choose a few brands and models

You don’t know what’s going to be part of the best Black Friday deals so you need to have a few choices so you can get what you want at the best price possible.

Narrow down your list to a few trusted appliance brands, models or series so you can make quick choices on the day of the sales.

Pick a store location or online

Another thing that will save you time and worries is choosing a store to get your appliance from before the Black Friday event starts. We recommend going in person before the sale to check out the appliances as they are and then ordering online the day of the event.

This way you get the best of both, you can see the appliance and also avoid the crowds and madness of Black Friday.

Shop early

Set an alarm, prepare yourself to shop, and go in the early hours so you can get what you want and cross the big items off your list.

Be prepared to move your old appliance out and your new one in

Make sure to research how to properly make the switch between appliances. Maydone has a guide for getting rid of your old appliances in Toronto, and call Maydone for installations!

Don’t forget Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday is the online continuation of Black Friday where you can access exclusive online discounts. Another great option for getting your new appliances for less!

  • This is the second time I’ve used their services, and both time was helped by Alex. He was incredibly thorough, punctual and incredibly diligent. He went above and beyond and even fixed a wobbly door under my sink. It’s always a pleasure to find a reliable and efficient service, and I would absolutely use Alex in the future!

  • Working in a veterinary clinic - we understandably go through a lot of laundry. Our washer was out of commission and within a very short period of time, Igor not only diagnosed the problem but had it fixed. He was efficient and easy to work with.

  • Contacted them late in the day and got a response first thing in the morning. Techinicians came the following day, showed up on time and repaired it quickly. Wouldn't hesitate to contact them again in the future.
